But the presentation contains a lot of useful information, so thank you very much for that!

Thanks Iain would of been great to see you there, though I didn't cover <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encapsulation_(computer_science)" rel="nofollow">encapsulation</a> as there was simply not enough time. This said it's still a very important topic to writing efficient and reusable code.

Nice slides - wish I'd seen the presentation. Seen lots of new people's code since I started freelancing - most annoying things are when people use code for layout and when people write 1 huge class instead of 3 little ones.

See ya round mate.

Thanks Jeff,
It's more work than you could possibly imagine (unless you've done it) to prepare for these presentations especially because you were the first audience to receive this content. I think commercial programmers (like myself) could be the least experienced people to get up and do presentations like this.

This said I tried to make sure all the information I presented was really practical - useful stuff and not cover ground you already knew about, so I am happy that everyone who attended found it to be really useful information.

The reason I introduce the addEvent/removeEvent function to a lot of my classes (usually via subclassing an Abstract class) is because I can then take advantage of using weak references with EventListeners on any class. This I find is more convenient than overriding the addEventListener function or always having to set the last parameter as true. But further to this it means this function addEvent/removeEvent function can be used on any built-in class with weakReferences which I almost always use.
